New beginnings, more accomplishments. What do you want this year to be for you?
I think for me, it’s just continuing to more forward with my work and trying to take more chances or maybe go off into another direction but still stay true to the process and what more I want to accomplish. When I am left to quiet and block out the noise, I get to think clearly and the ideas start to flow and take shape. With everything going on at home and in the world, it gets really hard to concentrate and have the time needed to create.
I often also think about what or how you measure success year to year in the artworld. Is it with sales, achieving a breakthrough in your work, or maybe being recognized by your peers. It’s all very different and means different things to different people. Some might have constant sales and consider that a success while others deem success by the art they make and accomplish. Will you be more successful if you persue and go after it more and are determined and willing it to happen. Do the sales happen then? I think it’s partly out of our control. We should just work and let others say what they want to say about you and your work.
Maybe hire someone to constantly praise you and talk about what a great artist you are, but I think it won’t end well cause they’ll probably end up hating and resenting the fact that they have to talk about you, ALL THE FREAKEN TIME!!!!!!
