EXHIBITION: As Far As the Eye Can See 2018 - 2025

This ongoing series of paintings arises from a desire for simplicity and focus. Working with minimal hues allows the act of painting to become immediate and essential, free from distraction. Each work is created in a specific, unrepeatable moment and reflects time and space as they are experienced in that instant. In some paintings, a line moves through the monochrome field as a threshold or spatial marker, introducing a quiet tension within an otherwise continuous surface. It suggests a passage, an interruption, or a point of orientation—subtly altering how the space is perceived. The process is guided by spontaneity rather than predetermined direction; there is no narrative beyond the choice of color, the emergence of the line, and the act of execution itself. The painting remains as both an action and its trace.

Cette série de peintures, en constante évolution, naît d’un désir de simplicité et de concentration. Le travail avec des palettes réduites permet au geste pictural de devenir immédiat et essentiel, libéré de toute distraction. Chaque œuvre est créée dans un moment précis et irrépétible et reflète le temps et l’espace tels qu’ils sont vécus à cet instant. Dans certaines peintures, une ligne traverse le champ monochrome comme un seuil ou un repère spatial, introduisant une tension discrète au sein d’une surface autrement continue. Elle suggère un passage, une interruption ou un point d’orientation, modifiant subtilement la perception de l’espace. Le processus est guidé par la spontanéité plutôt que par une direction prédéterminée ; il n’y a pas de narration au-delà du choix de la couleur, de l’apparition de la ligne et de l’acte d’exécution lui-même. La peinture demeure à la fois une action et la trace de cette action.
